Group Governance Manager

Salary: £38,500 - £42,500 pa (pro rata)
Part-time, 22.2 hours per week
Based: Barnstaple, North Devon

North Devon Homes is a registered charity providing affordable homes and delivering quality services to our communities across North Devon and we are committed to our vision of 'creating communities where people want to live'. As well as our affordable homes provision, we also build homes for outright sale through our commercial subsidiary Anchorwood Ltd.

As part of our continuous improvement plans, an exciting new opportunity has arisen within our Executive department.

Working with and reporting to the Finance Director, you will manage the Group's governance arrangements, ensuring that robust policies, procedures and controls are in place. As the appointed Company Secretary for all companies within the Group, you will be responsible for delivering expert advice and guidance on secretariat matters to the Board and Executive Team, ensuring a high-quality and confidential service at all times.

In addition, you will be the lead on Data Protection and GDPR legislation, providing support and guidance as required. This involves helping to sustain and embed a culture of robust data protection and information security, ensuring an effective control framework is in place, whilst being the key point of contact for queries and providing support and guidance to the Data Protection Officer.

You will need to be qualified to degree level or possess equivalent relevant experience at a senior level in an appropriate discipline. ICSA qualified or nearing qualification completion is desirable.

Your background must include significant experience in corporate governance requirements and company secretarial matters, while considerable experience in dealing with data protection regulations and knowledge of Charities Commission regulation is desirable.

The role demands the ability to deliver an effective customer driven service, especially building and sustaining strong working relationships with Board Members, key partners and stakeholders as well as colleagues across the Group.

North Devon Homes is able to offer flexible working. However, the successful candidate will be required to have a regular office presence.
