Applause IT are hiring for a Cyber Security Engineer to join a leading software engineering company who tackle the technical and innovation challenges faced by manufacturing, warehouse and distribution environments. As the Cyber Security Engineer, you will be integral in all stages of the software development lifecycle, helping to manage and implement network and application firewalls, vulnerability scanning, intrusion detection, encryption and threat management. You will be the subject matter expert (SME) for the business and help them advance their processes through your knowledge of ITIL and similar frameworks.

Your role will help to support the implementation of policies relating to the likes of data security and equipment usage, coordinating with other teams and stakeholders within the business in order to promote awareness of Cyber Security issues and threats.

The successful Cyber Security Engineer should have the following:

• Demonstrable experience in assessing cyber security vulnerabilities
• Experience with application penetration testing
• Experience working alongside customer IT security teams
• Familiarity with IEC 62443, CIS controls, ISO27001/2
• Ability to perform security reviews
• Experience maintaining security documentation
• Relevant computer science or information system degree
• Confident, independent problem–solving attitude
