What does this job entail?

The frequency of cyberattacks is increasing. How do we respond? With teamwork. As the System Architect for Cyber & IT Risk Management, you shape solutions and work closely with the teams that manage them on a technical level.

As a financial institution, KBC needs to prevent security risks, as well as detect and resolve any issues that do arise. We are the digital leader in our sector and plan to stay in that position. Behind the screens of our digital applications, we need the right security measures and processes and, of course, an effective architecture. Are you the person to help us accomplish all this?

What do we expect from you?
You develop a technical and architectural vision of cybersecurity and IT risk management that helps us to reach our goals. You base your approach on both functional and non–functional requirements, taking new business capabilities into account. You pay attention to the functional added value, the time to market, cost management considerations and all other important aspects.
You shape solution architecture with our most important components and interfaces. You fine–tune the scope with your colleagues, but the primary focus will be on Crypto Services & Risk Management Design & Support.
You make sure that when different teams work together on a solution, they tune their work and approach to each other, ensuring seamless results.
You translate business and IT policy into security requirements and investigate the technologies that could be used for them.
You actively participate in PI planning, sync meetings, demonstrations, and Inspect & Adapt sessions ... Put simply, you join us in the process of innovating. You let us know when you think we need to try something new.

Your key strengths?
You're particularly interested in cybersecurity from both an IT and a business perspective. You have the technical know–how required to work efficiently and effectively in this domain.
You know the most prevalent forms of cyberattack and the techniques that hackers use. They're constantly changing, but you're always up to date. You share what you learn with your colleagues.
You go the extra distance rather than taking the easy option. Your conceptual and innovative thinking leads to strong, effective solutions.
You prefer to take a helicopter view to focus on results. You delegate technical elements to others.
You communicate in English with clarity and conviction. You effortlessly adapt your approach to the person you're communicating with, whether they're a technical expert or a senior manager.
You have no problem substantiating your standpoints and technical choices in an open discussion. This helps to bring your colleagues to the right decisions. And it's perfect for finding pragmatic solutions that everyone understands and agrees with.

What can we offer you?
This is a job with a major impact. You fulfil an important role in your team.
We offer you an exceptional range of training and development opportunities so that you can develop your full potential. You are encouraged to keep growing as a person and professionally.
You will receive a permanent contract with a competitive salary, including an extensive package of additional benefits.
Our offices are easily accessible by public transport. You can also work partly from home if you like, even when the covid–related regulations are no longer in place.
We value a good balance between your work and private life. This is one of the reasons we were awarded the Top Employer 2021 certificate. We'll happily share some other reasons with you during an interview.
