Astrum Search is delighted to be supporting a forward thinking research and technology (FinTech) company that specialises in financial research, IT infrastructure, and machine learning.

As part of the commercially focussed Controls Assurance team you will be a problem solver, conducting reviews of critical business processes as well as key technology projects. You will assess key business risk areas, particularly across the change portfolio, providing the Board and Senior Leadership team with sensible observations that will improve the business.

Responsibilities:

• Achieve an in-depth understanding of the key initiatives across the business, working with management to develop reporting that isolates key risks and challenges across various business indicatives
• Develop terms of references for key deep-dives and reviews covering significant scope areas, with a focus on assessing that projects are delivering planned benefits
• Keeping on top of current state processes benchmarking against good practice whilst assessing risks and linked impacts of identified issues
• Through the use of data analysis and visualisation, identify innovative testing techniques
• Develop and maintain deep relationships with the Project and Programme and Management team to make sure you are always on top of the status of different change initiatives
• Delivering conclusions to technical and non-technical people from assurance findings, to and including the Senior Leadership team and Board members
• Actively identify opportunities improvement and problems within the team and / or processes
• Report writing - clearly articulating issues and key recommendations for consideration

The Successful Candidate:

• Notable experience providing assurance over technology and business change projects
• Able to deal to form conclusions that are right for the maturity and risk appetite of the business
• Desire to build and maintain an understanding of a complex and rapidly changing IT environment
• A keen interest in data analytics, technology and ideally financial markets
• Capability of organising data and exercise useful problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills - can communicate clearly with stakeholders and colleagues across all levels
• Wanting to work in a hugely successful fast-paced, forever changing environment
