We're investing £3bn into our People, Platforms and Data to become the best bank for customers and rapidly transforming into a leading UK FinTech.

It's the role of our Group Services and Security to provide the backbone / infrastructure upon which this bank operates. This technical SME role will be pivotal in expanding and enhancing existing technologies, integration and Optimisation of the toolsets, taking a lead on project related incidents whilst ensuring that our customers both internal and external are protected.

The Firewall team is responsible for protecting and securing the edge points of ingress and egress from the group's core infrastructure. Whether that's protecting the group from malicious attacks, providing connectivity, or supporting the growing business needs. We focus both on premise and in the cloud, with a multitude of technologies at our disposal.

The right candidate would be expected to lead in specific technology area of firewalls and the processes by which they are operated. This role builds the balance of combining technical development, leading delivering activities and managing a sustainable BAU platform. Your time will be split between shaping the projects requirement solution and providing a robust BAU support platform, including processes and documentation.

This is an operational focussed team so an element of "out of hours" working / support may be required.

What about you?

You'll be able to demonstrate most of the following technical capabilities with some to an advanced level, have a broad understanding of multiple networking technologies, which include:

  • Technical support and maintenance of security tools
  • Understanding of Controls and Controls testing
  • ServiceNow Incident, Change and problem management

Additionally, you'll have the capability to identify technical risks, articulate the associated IT costs and business impacts, and propose options for resolution. You'll also be able to identify, analyse and recommend areas for improvement and change within existing processes and procedures and will drive the evaluation, selection, implementation and testing of new hardware and/or system software.

Whilst we work flexibly across the team, we do have a hybrid working style which means we would look for you to be in one of our offices 2 days a week (40% of time)

Whilst not essential to have previously worked in Financial Services, having knowledge of regulated environments would be favourable.

Reward Package

Salary range is £52,560 - £58,400 for London
£45,045 - £50,060 outside of London

In return, we'll recognise and reward your performance. As well as an award-winning benefits package, you'll also have our full support, training and opportunities for personal and professional development. The compensation package includes a discretionary bonus, generous pension contribution, cash sum of your base salary which you can exchange for a variety of benefits or simply take the cash, private Medical Insurance, share plans and 30 days holiday plus bank holidays.

As a new colleague, you'll join us on our journey to build a 21st century bank that reflects modern Britain, and craft an inclusive culture where all colleagues feel encouraged and valued.

We're committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve, and to building an inclusive environment where all our colleagues can be themselves and succeed on merit.
