Responsibilities:
- Lead IT Audit Engagements: Manage and oversee IT audit engagements from planning to execution, ensuring compliance with audit methodologies, timelines, and quality standards.
- Provide guidance and support to audit teams throughout the process.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments of client IT environments to identify potential vulnerabilities and areas of concern.
- Develop strategies and plans to mitigate risks and enhance the overall security posture. Audit Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive IT audit plans based on risk assessments, regulatory requirements, and client-specific considerations.
- Execute audits by evaluating the design and effectiveness of IT controls, identifying control gaps, and making recommendations for improvements.
- Compliance and Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to IT governance, security, and compliance.
- Ensure client systems and processes align with these requirements and assist in the implementation of remediation measures.
- IT Control Testing: Perform detailed testing of IT controls and processes to verify their effectiveness in mitigating risks.
- Document and communicate audit findings and recommendations to clients, management, and other stakeholders.
- Team Management: Supervise, coach, and develop a team of IT auditors.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Monitor the progress of audit engagements and ensure timely completion.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, management, and regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with other departments within the firm to leverage expertise and resources.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements, automation, and standardization within the IT audit function.
- Implement best practices and contribute to the development of audit methodologies and tools.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MS) and professional certifications (e.g., CISA, CISSP, CISM) are preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in IT audit, information security, or technology risk management, preferably within a professional services firm or a large organization. In-depth knowledge of IT audit methodologies, frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ISO 27001), and regulatory requirements Strong understanding of IT governance, IT general controls, and application controls.
- Experience in managing and leading IT audit engagements, including planning, execution, and reporting.
- Proficient in assessing risks, identifying control gaps, and recommending practical solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. High ethical standards, integrity, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Flexibility and willingness to travel to client sites within Papua New Guinea as required
