Senior Cyber Security Analyst
- Annual Salary: GBP45,000 – GBP55,000 DOE
- Location: Ipswich
- Job Type: Full–time
We are seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to serve as a key point of contact for all IT, Information Security, and Cyber Security–related queries. This role involves managing the Security Operations Centre Queue, delivering exceptional service, and supporting the IT team with a range of security tasks. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing a Cyber Security Recommendations proposal and will have line management responsibilities.
Day–to–day of the role:- Produce a Cyber Security Recommendations proposal within 8 weeks of starting the role.
- Line manage one Cyber Security Analyst.
- Provide technical support to the IT Support Team and Development Team.
- Offer onsite and remote support for IT, Information Security, and Cyber Security tasks, events, and incidents across all businesses, enabled by a ticketing system, within set SLA times and business priority.
- Complete allocated tasks and project work to a high standard, ensuring IT infrastructure security.
- Utilise tools such as ConnectWise Automate, Intune, Defender, ESET, Azure, Firewalls, SIEM, Nessus/Tennable.IO.
- Focus on Cyber Security, risk management, ISO 27001, and Cyber Essentials Plus.
- Organise annual penetration tests and document security breaches, assessing their damage.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive plan to secure computing networks and systems.
- Monitor network usage to ensure compliance with security policies and stay up–to–date with IT security standards and threats.
- Collaborate with management and the IT Manager to improve security and educate colleagues about security software and best practices.
- Develop information security solutions, create, review, and update information security policies.
- Update knowledge base and SOPs.
- Travel to remote sites to support the IT Team or onsite users.
- Attend information security conferences/forums.
- Proven experience in Cyber Security and IT/Information Security.
- Familiarity with security tools such as ConnectWise Automate, Intune, Defender, ESET, Azure, Firewalls, SIEM, Nessus/Tennable.IO.
- Knowledge of Cyber Security, risk management, ISO 27001, and Cyber Essentials Plus.
- Ability to manage and support a team.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Willingness to travel to remote sites as needed.
