Cybersecurity Specialist, Level III (Mission Critical Position)
Location: Pentagon, Washington DC
Role Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cybersecurity Specialist, Level III, to join our team. This position is crucial for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of identified mission–supporting information systems and applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing and satisfying complex system–wide information security requirements, planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining security measures, and ensuring compliance with all relevant DoD, DISA, U.S. Cyber Command, NIST, and Air Force guidance. Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of mission–supporting information systems, networks, data, and tools.
• Establish and satisfy complex information security requirements based on user, policy, regulatory, and resource demands.
• Develop, implement, and maintain information assurance programs, policies, procedures, and tools in unclassified and classified environments.
• Coordinate with the Authorizing Official to maintain system's Authority to Operate (ATO) in compliance with DoDI 8510.01.
• Ensure compliance with DoD, DISA, U.S. Cyber Command, NIST, and Air Force guidance, including a deep understanding of RMF, IAWF standards, STIG, and continuous monitoring standards from NIST SP–800 Series.
• Document and mitigate deviations from policy and develop Assessment & Authorization packages in accordance with RMF and Air Force and DoD policies.
• Perform vulnerability/risk analyses of systems and applications throughout the development life cycle.
• Analyze technical problems related to information assurance and provide engineering and technical support.
• Support data recovery operations. Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, physical science, engineering, or a mathematics–intensive discipline, plus at least five (5) years of information security or information assurance experience; OR Associate's degree in the fields mentioned above, plus ten (10) years of task–related experience; OR
• Fifteen (15) years of task–related experience.
• Must be certified in compliance with DoDD 8570.01–M as an IAM Level 2. Required Skills:
• Extensive knowledge of information security principles, DoD and Air Force policies, and the Risk Management Framework.
• Proficiency in security technologies and vulnerability assessment tools.
• Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with Authorizing Officials and other stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem–solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
