Job Title: Network Security Engineer
Location: Groton, CT (Hybrid with some travel to sites within drivable distances)
Pay Rate: up to $78/hr (commensurate with experience)
Duration: 12+ months with likely conversion to a permanent position after 6 months. If offered a permanent position, immediate eligibility for benefits, health insurance, etc. A Network Security Engineer job in Groton, CT is currently accepting applications. This is a contract–to–hire position with our key manufacturing client. In this role, you will be responsible for installation, maintenance, and tuning of network equipment such as but not limited to firewalls, intrusion detection and intrusion prevention systems, and BigIP F5 load balancers. To be considered for this role, you will have a B.S. Degree in Computer Science or technical field along with 5+ years of related experience. Due to the nature of the work being conducted, U.S. Citizenship is a requirement, Security Clearance preferred Network Security Engineer Job Responsibilities:
Design and implement advanced network segmentation, to include operational technology (OT) networks, as well as a focus on a zero–trust network model
Work in a mixed vendor environment
Design, install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot the vast majority of implementations based on the Cisco Networks platform
Perform network segmentation and micro segmentation techniques to support replacing all current firewalls in the environment to include rewriting policies and segmentation to further increase overall security
Create an environment for ICS, manufacturing equipment and development labs to process information off the EBCUN where they can receive IT services such as virus updates, software updates, patching, scanning, IDS/ IPS, firewalls, etc. Network Security Engineer Job Requirements:
B.S. Degree in Computer Science or related technical field 5+ years of related experience with either Palo Alto or Cisco firewalls
DoD industry experience is preferred
In–depth knowledge and abilities to design, install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot the vast majority of implementations based on the Cisco Networks platform.
In–depth knowledge of network segmentation and micro segmentation techniques.
In–depth knowledge to create an environment for ICS, manufacturing equipment and development labs to process information off the EBCUN where they can receive IT services such as virus updates, software updates, patching, scanning, IDS/ IPS, firewalls, etc.
