Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer–oriented IT Security Engineer I to join our team in Altadena, CA! This is a hybrid position. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Responsible for the cybersecurity of the organization's computer systems and networks
Implements security measures which effectively safeguard an organization's information system, identify security threats and vulnerabilities in systems and software
Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security infrastructure software and hardware
The following responsibilities provide a foundational overview of the key tasks that a first–level IT security engineer is assigned:
Monitor systems: Support the monitoring and analyze security systems to ensure they are operating effectively
Incident response: Respond to security incidents and breaches, investigate the cause and mitigate risks
Implement security measures: Support the implementation and maintenance of security controls, policies and procedures
Security Assessment: Support security assessments, risk assessments, and vulnerability scans
Access management: Support the management of user access rights, permissions, and ensure appropriate access controls
Security documentation: Maintain accurate security documentation, reports and incident response procedures
Security audits: Support security audits, reviews, and ensure compliance with security standards
Security tool management: Support the management of security tools and software for monitoring, analysis, and threat detection
Incident tracking and reporting: Support the tracking of security incidents, document findings and report to the appropriate authorities
Security patches and updates: Support the application of security patches, updates and ensure systems are up to date with latest fixes
Security incident analysis: Analyze security incidents, investigate root cause and implement corrective actions Required Qualifications: A minimum of 2 years of relevant IT technical experience
Must have and maintain an IAT Level II certification (such as CompTIA Security+) for the duration of employment
Must have at least a High School Diploma Preferred Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in computer science
4+ years of relevant IT technical experience Clearance Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizenship
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust – Tier 2 clearance Physical Requirements: Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing/walking/Talking and must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one work site to another.
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Requires frequently communicates with co–workers, management, and customers.
Communicating with others to exchange information.
Working with computers.
Must be able to lift and move hardware weighing up to 50 pounds. The projected compensation range for this position is $79,300–$133,100. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
