Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, qualified individual to fill the Mid–Level Cybersecurity Engineer position. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse and talented group of individuals committed to driving success.

This hybrid position allows for a flexible work environment with up to 3 days in the office and 2 days remote per week. It is a 12–month term position, with the possibility of renewal in six–month increments, directly supporting Amazon Kuiper's Secure Network Operations Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing security controls, conducting system vulnerability assessments, collaborating with development teams to address security issues, and generating essential system security documentation to ensure the integrity of the secure network operations center.

Skills / Experience Required

• 4+ years of experience in the following areas:


• Security Controls – Planning and managing the application of NIST Special Publication 800 security controls


• Performing system vulnerability scanning, documenting results, and working with teams to address security finding


• Generating security documents and artifacts


• Supporting development of operations center network architecture that is NIST compliant


• Experience with developing POA&Ms for obtaining and maintaining IATTs, ATCs and ATOs


• 4+ years of experience Software Development and Network Establishment

Education / Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in software/computer engineering, or similar technical field is required


• 4+ years of experience Software Development and Network Establishment

Security Clearance

A high–level Department of Defense active security clearance may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
