Network Security & Infrastructure Engineer
Remote working – Occasional visits to office
Up to GBP60,000 + Bonus + Benefits
As a remote working Network Security & Infrastructure Engineer you will join a diverse and highly skilled Managed Services team within a leading internationally advanced technology solution provider, working with varied customers in a diverse number of sectors.
The role is remote based with occasional travel to the Milton Keynes office, customer sites and data centres and principally supporting Cyber Security Services across the client base.
You will be be an all–rounded hand–on engineer with a deep understanding of IT infrastructure, virtualisation, networking, and applications. A solid understanding of IT Security principles (e.g., system hardening, least privilege, segregation etc) is also key.
Required skills and experience:
- Familiar with network such as routing/firewalling/bridge/NAT etc, including being able to describe the difference between Layer 2/3 and Layer 7.
- Windows/Linux Servers
- Network (Checkpoint, Palo Alto, connectivity)
- VM Ware (ESXI, VSAN)
- HP Servers (Spec, Order, Del Location, Config, Testing, Del Customer, Racking, Testing)
- Server Racks (cabling, switches)
- Refnet (location, capacity, config, connectivity)
- ITIL (ticketing/change management etc)
- Cyber/Information Security experience
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good organisational and problem–solving skills
- Demonstrate a high level of independent judgment and initiative
- Be totally self–motivated and self–managed
- Handle confidential information in a professional manner
