We're on the lookout for a visionary Head of Cyber Security to continue to drive innovation in how we manage our cyber risk inline with the changing technology and threat landscape. About the Role

  • Build and Execute Strategy: Continue to implement and enhance our cyber security strategy, focused on managing our material cyber security risks, enabling our business goals and meeting our regulatory requirements, with a focus on future refinement and direction.
  • Inspire and Lead: Drive and empower highly technical teams, fostering a visionary and psychologically safe environment to assess risks and ensure compliance with legislation, security standards, and company policies.
  • Policy Enhancement: Develop and monitor policies, standards, and tools to manage risks effectively.
  • Drive Innovation: Ensure new and innovative technologies are designed with security embedded from the core and adopted with robust control measures in place.
  • Lead Assurance: Plan and lead comprehensive and integrated–assurance activities to test and improve cyber security controls.
  • Compliance Management: Oversee compliance reviews, risk management, and response capabilities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation, and externally, staying updated on emerging threats and technologies.
  • Deliver Impactful Reporting: Provide transparent and impactful reports on risk levels, control effectiveness, and improvement initiatives to the Executive Committee and Board, ensuring informed decision–making and strategic oversight.

About you

  • A seasoned and strategic leader equipped with strong business acumen and a proven track record in guiding and shaping cyber security initiatives.
  • Extensive knowledge in the cyber security and/or enterprise risk management field, bringing diverse practices and sophisticated concepts together to ensure we continue to evolve and adapt.
  • Highly proficient in cyber security risk management, including familiarity with leading cyber security frameworks and standards (e.g. NIST CSF, AESCSF, DOE C2M2, ASD Essential 8 etc.).
  • Well–versed in both current and prevailing legislation and cyber security obligations (including those under SOCI) with a solid understanding of how these influence cyber security practices.
  • Strong understanding of security operations, with a commitment to, and experience in, driving continuous improvement in key cyber security operations metrics (e.g. time to detect / respond, vulnerability ratios etc.).
  • Excellent communication, relationship–building, influencing, and negotiation skills, capable of leading and engaging across organisational boundaries and demonstrated experience presenting and engaging with executives and company directors.
  • NV1 (or higher) security clearance is strongly desirable but not essential.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, risk management, computer science, or cyber security welcomed.
