Overview /Objective

As Sr. Manager of NFL Network Security, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network security solutions to protect our organization's digital infrastructure from cyber threats. Function as the operational team lead and subject matter expert for NFL's firewall platforms and services.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee network security engineering, configuration, monitoring, alerting and maintenance of all enterprise network security equipment including firewalls, network access control systems, and network detection and response platforms.
  • Manage managed firewall vendor and other key network security relationships and monitor the overall performance quality of these vendors.
  • Proactively review and analyze existing firewall configurations to identify potential areas for improvement, security best practices, and performance optimization.
  • Define, review, and advise on firewall operational requirements including guidelines, baselines, and SOPs for managed firewall operations group.
  • Mature, develop and operationalize SOPs for firewall and network security platforms.
  • Research, identify and define key areas of improvement on existing network and firewall configurations and services.
  • Lead, drive, and oversee the emerging and firewall and network security solutions and services from projects to BAU operations.
  • Define and drive key process improvement for existing solutions by working closely with internal teams and vendors.
  • Manage and implement projects and technology upgrades including evaluations and recommendations for security and control configurations.
  • Provide technical domain guidance and expertise to stakeholders and business units as and when needed with regards to firewall services.
  • Responsible for accurate and detailed documentation of networks, firewalls, security controls and monitoring.
  • Provide regular Firewall & Network Security Operations updates for management reporting, including strategic planning.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in Firewall and Network Security domain, 3 years of which having led a team.
  • Proven experience on an enterprise level in designing, implementing, and maintaining network security.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices from vendors such as Palo Alto, Cisco, Check Point, Fortinet, etc.
  • Strong hands-on experience with networking and security appliances.
  • Leadership of managed services and firewall engineering teams.
  • Working knowledge of management of Palo Alto firewalls and advanced feature sets such as APP-ID, User-ID, Global Protect, Wildfire, NAT and Security Profiles
  • Hands-on experience with network security tools and technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, SIEM, etc.
  • Experience in public cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
  • Experience with network security protocols and standards, such as IPsec, SSL/TLS, DNSSEC, SNMP, etc.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong technical expertise in network protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, enterprise firewall and network security products.
  • Analyzer & Management Tools: SIEM, CPSM, logging and data visualization tools.
  • Experience in leveraging automation /orchestration capabilities in firewall management.
  • Thorough understanding of networking concepts and systems including routing and switching.
  • Experience with WAF technologies.
  • Certifications in PCSNE, PCSNA, CCNP, CCIE or similar network security would be an added advantage.

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Must have excellent technical writing skills.

Travel

Travel domestically and internationally may be required for this position. While frequency and duration of travel will vary throughout the year, applicants should anticipate approximately 10-15% travel.

Terms / Expected Hours of Work
  • NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week.
  • This is a full-time position, where travel and weekend work will be required.

Salary / Pay Range

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.

Salary

$170,000-$190,000 USD
