We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity and Network Security Specialist to oversee and enhance the security of our company's network infrastructure. As a Microsoft-centric organization utilizing MS 365 for administration, collaboration, and security, this role will focus on protecting both our Head Office (HO) and retail locations. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and manage advanced security solutions, including firewalls, managed switches, and other security devices, to ensure complete visibility and protection across all network devices. This position requires a proactive mindset, attention to detail, and occasional travel to retail locations to assess and improve networking infrastructure.

The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity and Network Security Specialist to oversee and enhance the security of our company's network infrastructure. As a Microsoft-centric organization utilizing MS 365 for administration, collaboration, and security, this role will focus on protecting both our Head Office (HO) and retail locations. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and manage advanced security solutions, including firewalls, managed switches, and other security devices, to ensure complete visibility and protection across all network devices. This position requires a proactive mindset, attention to detail, and occasional travel to retail locations to assess and improve networking infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement robust cybersecurity policies, processes, and technologies aligned with Microsoft security frameworks and best practices.
- Configure and maintain network security devices, including managed switches, firewalls, and intrusion prevention systems.
- Monitor and manage the security posture of the company using Microsoft Defender, Azure AD, and other MS security tools.
- Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address potential threats.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements across all network components.
- Develop and maintain complete visibility of all network-connected devices across retail stores and the Head Office.
- Collaborate with IT teams to harden endpoints, servers, and applications using Microsoft security solutions.
- Travel to retail locations to assess networking infrastructure, identify vulnerabilities, and deploy secure configurations.
- Oversee the rollout and maintenance of standardized networking hardware and configurations at retail locations.
- Document and maintain a comprehensive inventory of network devices and configurations.
- Provide training and guidance to IT teams and retail staff on network security best practices.
- Respond to and investigate network security incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective measures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Equivalent experience is acceptable.
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in network security and cybersecurity roles.
- Certifications (preferred):
- Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (or higher certifications like Azure Security Engineer Associate).
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
- CompTIA Security+ or Network+.
- Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of Microsoft 365 security tools (Defender, Azure AD, Intune, etc.).
- Experience with configuring and managing managed switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Knowledge of network protocols, architecture, and troubleshooting tools.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS).
- Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell or similar tools.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
