What does a Technology Risk professional do?

Working in conjunction with other specialists, the Technology Risk professional acts as an expert advisor who will incept, direct and deliver all Technology Risk activities. The individual would be responsible for Technology Risk management policies, procedures and guidelines, and is expected to ensure that Technology Risks are appropriately measured and prioritised.  
 
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: 

• Ensuring that activities delivered under own control are in accordance with appropriate governance, compliance and operational principles/frameworks of risk. 
• Supporting the Head of Technology Risk and Information Security in developing the maturity of risk management activities  
• Providing technology controls and risk advice to the IT teams and liaise with other controls experts across the organisation  

In order to be considered for a Technology Risk role, work experience in the area of IT and technology risk is required. Successful candidates are likely to have held roles such as IT Risk Manager, Risk Manager, IT Manager, Information or IT Security Manager, IT Audit Manager, IT Incident Manager or Business Continuity Manager. 

Relevant technical qualifications include MIRM, CRISC, CISM, CISA, CISSP.
